Privacy Policy

Overview

Filecraft is a file conversion utility developed by Last Light Labs. Your privacy is fundamental to how we build this app. Filecraft performs all file conversions entirely on your device — no data is ever sent to external servers.

Data Collection

Filecraft does not collect any personal data. The app embeds TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics SDK, to collect anonymised usage signals. All signals are cryptographically hashed on-device before transmission — no personal data, file contents, or filenames are ever included. These signals are used solely to understand aggregate app usage and improve Filecraft.

Network Access

Filecraft makes no network requests for file conversion — all conversion processing remains fully on-device. The only network activity is TelemetryDeck transmitting anonymised, hashed usage signals to its EU-based servers. No file data is ever transmitted.

Analytics

Filecraft uses TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous usage analytics. Signals include app launches, the conversion category and format pair used (e.g. “HEIC to JPEG”), paywall views, purchase events, and crash signals. All signals are cryptographically hashed on-device before transmission — TelemetryDeck cannot link signals to an individual user. No file contents, filenames, or personal data are ever transmitted. There is currently no option to opt out of analytics collection.

On-Device Processing

All file conversions are performed locally on your device using Apple system frameworks including PDFKit, CoreGraphics, UIKit, Contacts, EventKit, and Foundation. No files or data are transmitted to any cloud service or remote server for processing.

Conversion History

Filecraft stores a local conversion history in UserDefaults on your device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can delete your conversion history at any time from the Settings screen.

In-App Purchases

Filecraft offers a single one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit 2 framework. Filecraft never sees, processes, or stores any payment information. All transaction data is managed by Apple.

Third-Party Advertising

Filecraft contains no third-party advertising. There are no ad SDKs, ad networks, or promotional tracking tools of any kind in the app.

Third-Party Libraries

Filecraft uses two open-source libraries — ZIPFoundation and CoreXLSX — for archive and spreadsheet support. These libraries operate entirely on-device and do not collect or transmit any data.

Filecraft also includes TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics SDK. TelemetryDeck receives only anonymised, cryptographically hashed usage signals — no personal data or file contents are ever sent to it.

Children's Privacy

Filecraft does not collect any personal data from any user, including children. The anonymised analytics signals described above cannot be linked to an individual user. The app is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be included in a future app update with an updated effective date.
